Adopted annually, the Capital Plan’s citywide view helps deliver more stable funding, stronger pre-bond planning, and better coordination on major projects and programs. Staff may be asked to contribute to the Capital Planning process by submitting requests for the 10 Year Capital Plan or 2 Year Capital Budget, updating facility information, verifying estimates, or providing project status updates. These contributions help define the City’s needs and set expectations for departments, external stakeholders, and elected officials.
Preparation of a full Capital Plan occurs every other year. Preparation of an addendum occurs for off-years. FY 11-12 is an off-year.
Key deadlines for the off year updates are as follows:
Early October:Work with CPP staff to determine if your dept needs to enter new or adjust existing projects in CPRd.
Oct 28: FRRM updates due. Significant project changes due in CPRd (requests accepted starting Oct 10th and should be discussed with CPP staff prior to submittal).
Nov-Dec: CPP staff review of major changes, Budget instructions issued.
January 20: Budget requests due in CPRd.
Jan-Feb:CPC review of major changes to FY 2012-21 Capital Plan. Program Status Updates to CPC. Internal review of Budget submissions.
